The 1,000-foot New River Gorge Bridge attracts thousands of visitors annually from all over the world who come to walk or run across it. The bridge does not disappoint – the views are spectacular.

The world-famous Mothman Museum is located just outside of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and offers a glimpse into the strange and the unusual. The museum commemorates the visit of the “Flying Man” from the mid-1960s.

When it comes to food, Pepperoni Rolls are a staple in West Virginia cuisine, hand pies were created to keep coal miners’ hands warm in their lunch buckets as they worked deep in the mines.

The famous “Country Roads” by John Denver is an homage to West Virginia, with its rolling country roads, rolling hills, and beautiful mountains vistas.

Immersive art installation coming to West Virginia: The debut of an immersive art installation will be in West Virginia.

“Our goal is to provide the best immersive art experience in the world,” Kenning said of the experience that allows the public to engage with art without ropes and barriers. It’s a massive project housed in a 150,000-square-foot building – previously home to a big box retailer.

“It’s a 30-minute drive south of Charleston. It’s located in the Tri-State area near the intersection of Interstates 64, 77 and 79,” Kenning said. “It’s between Columbus, Cleveland and Pittsburgh.”

The creator of the art installation is a group of artists who created Meow Wolf, an immersive installation in Santa Fe, New Mexico, that attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Eli Cary, Chance Murrill, Benji Geary, Emily Montoya and Caity Kennedy — the five artist collective, Virginia Vexta, will present its new interactive installation this year.
