Williamson is a town in Wayne County, New York, United States. The population was 7,500 at the 2010 census. The town is named after entrepreneur and landowner Williamson family.

The town of Williamson is located in the northwest part of Wayne County, tapering off to the north into Lake Ontario. Ogdensburg is 35 miles northwest, and Rochester is 45 miles west.

The region may have been visited by French explorer Étienne Brûlé in 1615, although this account is not documented. The indigenous peoples of the region were the Seneca Nation of Native Americans.
