North Valley Stream is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located in the town of Hempstead, Nassau county, New York, USA. It is located on the north shore of Long Island, approximately 25 miles (40 km) east of manhattan. As of the 2020 united states census, the CDP had a population of 17,489.

The original inhabitants of North Valley Stream were the massapequa Indians, who were part of the lenape nation. In 1643, the Dutch established a trading post in the area, which was later followed by English settlements in the 17th century. The area remained largely agricultural until the 1880s, when the long island rail road was extended to the area, leading to increased residential development.
