Nesconset is a hamlet in the Town of Smith town, New York, United States. The population was 12,381 at the 2010 census. Nesconset is situated approximately 35 miles east of New York City on the North Shore of Long Island.

Nesconset is known for its rich history, which began in 1656, with its first recorded land deed. The hamlet also had the first female postmaster in the U.S.A, in 1851.
