East Hills is a village in Nassau County, New York, United States, on the North Shore of Long Island. In 2000, the village had a population of 6,485.
East Hill is located at 40°48′29″N 73°38′51″W (40.808102, -73.647417).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.2 square miles (8.3 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, for every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. The median income for a household in the village was $127,415, and the median income for a family was $147,083. Males had a median income of $98,801 versus $41,250 for females. The per capita income for the village was $64,275. About 3.0% of families and 4.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 2.6% of those under age 18 and 4.3% of those age 65 or over.

As of the census[6] of 2000, there were 6,485 people, 2,264 households, and 1,786 families residing in the village. The population density was 2,041.8 people per square mile (789.0/km²). There were 2,350 housing units at an average density of 735.3/sq mi (284.1/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 88.6% White, 0.4% Black or African American, 0.05% Native American, 8.3% Asian, 1.3% from other races, and 1.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.3% of the population.
There were 2,264 households, out of which 40.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.3% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.1% were non-families. 18.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.87 and the average family size was 3.34.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 29.6% under the age of 18, 4.7% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 24.1% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.7 males.

The area now known as East Hills was also home to the Kennedy family's two-story colonial home, which was built in 1920.
