Old Bridge is a township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 71,391. The township is situated 25 miles from New York City, and 20 miles from Staten Island, and is part of the New York Metropolitan Area.
The community was established in 1889, and its name comes from the fact that George Washington and his troops crossed the Raritan River on an old bridge during the Battle of Raritan. Old Bridge has a total area of 40.95 square miles. Many residents are of Italian or Irish descent. The population is 71,391 and a population density of 1,737 people per square mile.
The Van Middlesworth House, restored by the Old Bridge Historical Society, is the township's oldest home, erected about 1790. Other historic sites are the Old Bridge Public Library, which opened in 1906, and the St. Stephens Episcopal Church, having to bells from the RMS Lusitania.
Old Bridge hosts an annual 10-day Harvest Festival, which draws around 100,000 people, with live music, agricultural exhibits, carnival rides, craft vendors, and fireworks.
The Old Bridge Township Public Schools serve students in prekindergarten through twelfth grade. There are four high schools: Old Bridge High School, Communiversity, J.P. Stevens High School, and Middlesex County Academy. The township also has a campus of the Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools.

Old Bridge is in congressional district seven and is part of New Jersey's 12th state legislative district. By the general election on November 8, 2016, Old Bridge residents, the 18th Congressional District, and both parties chose Donald J. Trump and Mike Pence as their presidential choices.
