Jamesburg is a borough located in Middlesex County, New Jersey, USA. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 6,328.

Jamesburg was formed as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 19, 1887, from portions of Monroe Township.

The borough was named for James Buckelew, who founded the town in 1852.

The mayor of Jamesburg is currently (2023) Jeffrey T. J Weir.

The borough has a total area of 2.37 square miles, all of which is land. The elevation is 137 feet above sea level.

The closest beach is at Sandy Hook, approximately 25 miles east of Jamesburg.

Jamesburg is governed under the borough form of New Jersey municipal government. The governing body consists of a mayor and a borough council comprising six council members who are elected to serve three-year terms on a staggered basis, with two council seats up for election each year. The borough form of government used by Jamesburg is one of the original nine types of municipal governments that were established by the New Jersey Legislature in 1897.

Several ethnic groups have settled in Jamesburg, including people of Italian, German, Polish, and Hispanic (Puerto Rican and Dominican) descent. It has a central business district surrounded by a mixture of small single-story shops, several Lutheran churches, a Presbyterian church, a Methodist church, a Catholic church, and a handful of parks. Approximately 3,184 households, and 2,419 families reside in Jamesburg.
