Hudson is located in the eastern part of the state, along the Massachusetts border. It is bordered by Pelham to the north, Windham to the east, Londonderry to the south, and Litchfield to the west. Hudson is located 15 miles (24 km) southeast of Manchester, 28 miles (45 km) northwest of Boston, Massachusetts, and 196 miles (315 km) north of Boston.

Hudson has a total area of 18.2 square miles (47.2 km²), of which 17.4 square miles (45.0 km²) are land and 0.85 square miles (2.2 km²) are water, according to the United States Census Bureau.

There is a small airport in Hudson, also known asBoire Field.

The town is drained by the Souhegan River. Alvirne High School and Robious Road, Litchfield Road, Hudson Center, and Webster Boulevard are some of the town's major east-west routes. Hudson has no rail service, Interstate 93 and the Everett Turnpike pass through the west and northwest parts of town, and Route 3A follows Mammoth Road and Ferry Street.
