fraser,MichiganFirst, Fraser is a city in Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a part of the Detroit-Warren–Dearborn, MI Combined Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 14,363.

The name of the city came from a Scottish clan, Fraser, in the early 19th century. Euro-American settlers were drawn to the area because of the abundance of water from the numerous lakes and streams. In 1858, a railroad extension was built from Detroit to Romeo; the line passed through the hamlet and spurred growth. It was incorporated as a village in 1881 and as a city in 1956.

The city has a total area of 5.74 square miles, of which 0.03 square miles, or 0.49%, is water. The city is bounded by 14 Mile Road to the north, Mack Avenue to the south, Schoenherr Road to the east, and Utica Road to the west. The city'

Fraser's recreational offerings include five public parks, a community pool, and sports fields. The parks offer passive and active recreational facilities such as walking paths, playgrounds, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and picnic areas.

One of the most notable examples of early architecture is the 1870s Van Dyke public library. The museum, open to the public, offers tours of its historic buildings.

The Crofoot Ballroom is a well-known music venue that has hosted acts such as Hank Williams and Tom Petty. The city also hosts a summer concert series, a festival, and a fireworks show.

The community lies in the northwest portion of Macomb County, 20 miles north of Detroit. Residents are zoned to schools in Fraser Public Schools.

The Historical Library and Museum is a notable cultural attraction in the city. Once the home of the city's first bank, it was built in 1872 and sold to the Historical Society in 1963. The building is a State of Michigan Historic Site.
