As of the census of 2000, there were 10,873 people, 3,846 households, and 3,022 families living in the CDP. The population density was 2,364.6 people per square mile (912.0/km2). There were 4,039 housing units at an average density of 893.8/sq mi (344.9/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.42% White, 5.32% African American, 0.27% Native American, 2.45% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.39% from other races, and 1.56% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.47% of the population.

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 28.4% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 33.8% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 7.7% who were 65 years of age or older.
