Culture:
University Park is a diverse community with different cultures and ethnicities represented. Hispanics make up a significant portion of the population, but there are also significant groups of African Americans and non-Hispanic Whites. In recent years, there has been a surge in Asian-American residents, mainly Chinese and Vietnamese Americans.

History:
University Park was once known as the "airport neighborhood" because it was close to the Miami International Airport. The area's opening in 1933 of the University of Miami brought new residents to the area, and the university purchased
nearby land.
University Park homes vary in design, with tract homes, apartment buildings, and condominium associations. Single-family homes for the middle and upper-middle class, including several Mediterranean-style stucco houses with barrel roofs, can be found in the region. Significant apartment complexes share the area with the homes.
