History:

The community of Brent, Florida, was named after A. J. Brent, a prominent local businessman who owned a general merchandise store in the area and served as the first postmaster. The area grew gradually as a farming community and sawmill industry hub. The Brent Elementary School opened in 1926, and the Brent Baptist Church was established in 1934.
