The unincorporated community of Blackhawk-Camino Tassajara is located in Contra Costa County, California, in the United States. As of the 2020 census, the community' claims a population of 11,303 people. It is a region of large, estate-sized homes, luxury condos, and upscale townhomes. It has a culture of mostly upper-class residents, relative to the rest of Contra Costa County.

Many new residents are trying to take advantage of the community's central location, within 30–45 minutes from most major cities in the East Bay. Because of this great location, the community has seen many new residents relocate there from nearby cities such as San Francisco, Oakland, Walnut Creek, and even some of the outlying cities such as Stockton, California.
Blackhawk has some public schools, K–8, which are highly regarded and get high scores on API tests. Blackhawk has a high school, Monte Vista High School, which also receives high API scores and ranks among the highest in the state. Some residents choose to send their children to neighboring cities to find higher-rated schools.
The local newspaper, The Blackhawk Bugle, is published monthly and mailed to all residents.
The fire protection for Blackhawk-Camino Tassajara is provided by the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. The district has a fire station in Blackhawk that has one engine, one truck, one rescue squad, and a fire prevention unit. The station serves Blackhawk as well as the surrounding communities of Diablo, Alamo, and San Ramon. Some of the firefighters are paramedics, and they respond to more than 1,700 emergency calls a year.
